It used to take an employee 6 hours a week to produce using Excel - now it takes no recurring employee time. The report is updated to the web via FTP and connects directly to GuestTracker, the client's room management system. This project involved some reverse engineering of Guest Tracker's internal database (in Microsoft Access) so that the data in the report would not require any additional activities on the part of employees to produce. The contents of the report are not available in GuestTracker and are computed externally in a small application. Boxes with numbers indicate free units of each type, green indicates all rooms free, dark gray no rooms free. |
